Our workshop

Where every piece is actually made

No importing, no white-labelling. Cutting, joinery, finishing and upholstery all happen on one floor in Johannesburg.

Our craftsmanship

Built on our floor, by our people

We started in 2014 with two workbenches and a single delivery bakkie. Today a team of 24 craftsmen build every sofa frame, headboard and dining table we sell — under one roof, where we can put our name on the joinery.

01

Material selection

Timber is chosen board by board and moisture-checked before it reaches the saw. Warped or knotted stock is rejected at intake.

02

Cutting & joinery

Frames are cut to the millimetre and joined with glued, screwed and dowelled joints — never staples alone.

03

Sanding & finishing

Three sanding passes before stain or paint, then a hand-applied sealer that brings out the grain and protects the surface.

04

Quality control

Every piece is loaded, levelled and inspected against the order sheet before it is wrapped for delivery.

The process

From board to delivery

Four stages, each with a check that has to pass before the piece moves on.

Equipment

The machines behind the joinery

Panel saw

Breaks sheet stock down square and repeatably — the reference cut every other dimension follows.

Thicknesser & planer

Brings rough timber to a consistent thickness so frames sit flat.

Spray booth

Enclosed finishing bay keeps dust out of wet stain and sealer.

Upholstery bay

Foam cutting, webbing and fabric work done in-house rather than subcontracted.

Materials

What we build with

We name the material on every quote. No vague 'wood effect' descriptions.

Timber

Solid Pine

Light, affordable and takes stain well. Our most-ordered timber.

Solid Oak

Dense, hard-wearing and strongly grained. Best for tables and heavy use.

Meranti

Stable hardwood with a warm red tone. Good for larger frames.

Reclaimed Timber

Character-rich boards with visible history. Each piece varies.

Steel & metalwork

Powder-coated Black

Matt black steel frames and legs. Our standard.

Powder-coated White

Clean white steel for lighter rooms.

Raw Steel, Sealed

Industrial mill finish with a clear protective coat.

Upholstery

Weave Linen

Textured upholstery-grade linen blend. Breathable, matt.

Velvet

Dense pile with a soft sheen. Rich colour depth.

Genuine Leather

Full-grain hide that patinas with use.

Performance Weave

Tight synthetic weave for high-traffic and family homes.

Quality control

Six checks before anything leaves the floor

Most furniture faults are decided long before the finish goes on. These are the points where we stop and check rather than carry on.

Timber moisture-checked at intake; warped or knotted stock rejected

Frames squared and levelled before any finish is applied

Every joint glued, screwed and dowelled — never stapled alone

Three sanding passes before stain or paint

Drawers and doors cycled by hand to check alignment

Final inspection against the order sheet before wrapping
